| Maintaining Privacy and Confidentiality |
Wipro understands that protection of all confidential information is essential. We are committed to protecting business and personal information of a confidential nature obtained from clients, associates and employees. Every employee/Director of Wipro and subsidiaries, affiliates, sister concerns, associates and channel partners shall ensure compliance with all aspects of this policy.
In this respect, confidential information may be disclosed only by an authorized employee to authorized persons on a need-to-know basis. Confidentiality agreements must be resorted to whenever required. Destroying, tampering or defacing of confidential information will invite disciplinary action.
In circumstances where Wipro may have to transfer information obtained from its customers or its employees to countries that may or may not have data protection laws, steps shall be taken to ensure that the customers or employees privacy right continue to be protected.
Except as set out in this policy, Wipro will not disclose any personally identifiable information without its customer’s or employee’s permission unless Wipro is legally entitled or required to do so or if Wipro believes that such action is necessary to protect and/or defend Wipro’s rights, property or personal safety and those of its Customers or employees. Wipro will comply with all applicable laws regulating the disclosure of personal information about employees.
