Global Offering Designed to Help Organizations More Rapidly Experience the Benefits of Comprehensive, Enterprise Identity Management
Redwood Shores, Calif, June 27, 2007
Oracle and Wipro Technologies, the Global IT Services Division of Wipro Limited, today announced worldwide availability of Managed Identity Services. The new managed service offering utilizes leading components comprising Oracle Identity Management, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, and helps organizations reduce identity management related costs, enhance security and streamline regulatory compliance across the enterprise.
Designed to meet the requirements of organizations that seek the benefits of enterprise identity management at lower upfront costs and assured service levels, Managed Identity Services provides SLA based guaranteed managed services for the operation, deployment, subsequent enhancement and management of a customer's identity management infrastructure. The offering couples Oracle's identity and access management functionality with leading service and management from Wipro and spans key functional areas including user provisioning, directory services, access control, enterprise single sign-on and identity federation. With Managed Identity Services, organizations can more quickly on-board users across the organization and better ensure compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI and HIPAA.
"Heightened compliance and security regulations make identity and access management a critical component of today's enterprise. However, many organizations lack the resources to deploy and manage a comprehensive identity management infrastructure," said Hasan Rizvi, vice president, Identity and Security Products, Oracle. "The offering, which was refined through joint implementations, is based on best practices, leading software, and tested frameworks – delivering customers a proven and cost effective vehicle for meeting their identity management needs."
Prasenjit Saha, general manager, Enterprise Security Services, Wipro Technologies said "Our offering with Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite will enable our customers to leverage our global experience and expertise of Global Identity and Access Management deployments along with our User Account Management operational support experience to obtain an optimal ROI. This will help customers eliminate risk, reduce costs and time needed to select, deploy, maintain and support an enterprise-wide identity and access management solution. "
Supporting the Complete Identity Management Lifecycle
Managed Identity Services supports the complete lifecycle of a customer's identity management initiative and is implemented in a series of stages that are designed to ultimately automate the system. During the first phase of the process, the manual identity processes will be transitioned to Wipro to an SLA-based managed offering. The automation track or the Foundation Build Phase with Oracle Identity Manager is run in parallel. Once the framework is in place, the enterprise applications are integrated with a series of subsequent Iterative Application On-Boarding phases. Wipro will support the organization's existing user management processes, when automation kicks in, with each successive iteration, there is a gradual ramp down of the manual operations team.
