Wipro ties up with 14 colleges in Tamil Nadu for Mission 10x

Wipro Limited has tied up with 14 colleges in Tamil Nadu in Mission 10x initiative launched which is aimed at promoting systemic changes to current teaching-learning paradigms in Engineering Education. Wipro is doing this in collaboration with Academia to enhance Graduate Engineer’s employability significantly.

Wipro announced today it has tied up with 8 engineering colleges in Chennai, 2 colleges in Madurai, and engineering colleges in Dindigul, Trichy, Perambulur and Sribilliputtur. Mission10X is an outcome of intense research work done by Wipro’s Innovation team. Mission10X has arrived at a unique “Wipro Learning Model” that enables a faculty to make a student imbibe ‘higher levels of understanding’ of a subject taught in classrooms along with development of ‘key behavioral skills’ in parallel.

Colleges tied up by Wipro in Tamil Nadu are, Velammal Engineering College, St. Joseph’s Engineering College, Easwari Engineering. College, BSA Crescent Engineering College, RMD Engineering College, RMK Engineering College, Sathyabama University, SRM University, (all in Chennai) Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, KLN college of Engineering, Madurai, A.K.C college of Engineering, Sribilliputtur, Dhanalaksmi Engineering College, Perambulur, PSNA College of Engineering Dindigul and Saranathan college of Engineering, Perambalur, Trichy.

Mr. D Selvan, Senior Vice President – Talent Transformation, Wipro Technologies said, “Information Technology industry faces the challenge of improving the quality of graduates passing out. A significant responsibility of this rests with industry leaders. Our objective is to improve the quality of education for our engineering graduates.”

Mission10X program involves a layered set of capability building workshops to help Engineering Faculty nurture talent pool across the country. It will be launched across the country in a phased manner. Mission10X will equip 1000 faculty in the current Financial Year and another 3000 faculty in the next year. The aim is to cover 6000 faculty in the third year taking the total number of faculty to 10,000 from around 1500 engineering colleges by the year 2010.

Wipro has also launched Mission10X.com portal to enable healthy interaction of faculty across the country by sharing their experiences of using Wipro Learning Model.
