Wipro Launches "Wipro ‘XML First’ Media Platforms" based on the Industry’s Leading XML Server, MarkLogic Server
 
A Platform to Enable Publishers, Education Service Providers and Entertainment Companies to Significantly Reduce cost of production by 20 – 40 percent, reduce Time to Market and Increase Content Monetization

Wipro Technologies the global IT services business of Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT), today announced the launch of Wipro “XML First” Media Platforms an XML based content authoring and delivery solution for media companies to rollout content products and ads quickly and cost effectively.

The media industry is driven by demands for multiple products and delivery medium is going through a transformation in the content production process. “XML First” from Wipro, built on top of MarkLogic Server, the industry’s leading XML Server, helps reduce the cost of production by enabling XML based authoring & content production and significantly reduce time to market.

This platform combines the power of MarkLogic Server and authoring products from Adobe Ecosystem. In addition, “XML First” comes bundled with Wipro FLowBrix, a powerful W3C compliant workflow engine. This enables rule-based orchestration of workflow tasks, dynamic configuration and deployment of workflows.

Built on media industry standards like MPEG21, the “XML first” media platform is comprised of an Advertising Platform, Content Platform and Video Authoring Platform.

Ad Platform is a Flash-based ad authoring system aiding publishers and advertisers in the process of conceptualizing and creating ads. With support for wide variety of ads the Ad Platform reduces cost of ad production by a significant 20 – 40 %.

Content Platform is integrated to popular authoring tools from Adobe and Microsoft Word and supports the authoring of books and magazines. Content Platform supports predictive content reuse, which improves editorial productivity and significantly reduces content production time.

With significant increase in non linear viewership of videos on the internet, there is a rising demand to assign metatags to various parts of video products and enhance monetization via context sensitive ads. The Video Platform helps tag various parts of the video and render context sensitive ads.
