Mission10X signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay

Mission10X, a not for profit trust launched by Wipro Limited in September last year, announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay with the objective of creating a broad understanding that can foster closer collaboration between Mission10X and IIT-B.

The objective of this MoU is to promote interaction between IITB and Mission10X in mutually beneficial areas and to provide a formal basis for initiating interaction between IITB and Mission10X. The MoU is for a period of 3 years.

Some of the activities to be jointly undertaken under the MoU are creation of educational material, establishing a joint centre of excellence to carry out joint research activity in the field of education and transmission of educational material created by Mission10x through EDUSAT.

Announcing the MoU, Selvan D, Senior Vice President – Talent Transformation, Wipro Technologies said, “This partnership raises the bar of Mission10X and helps every Engineering College in the country benefit from the best of breed practices that IIT, Bombay has been known for over the years. We see a lot of synergy between Mission10X and IIT Bombay in enriching the quality of Engineering Education in the country.”

Representing IIT Bombay, Prof Kannan Moudgalya, Head of Centre for Distance Engineering Education Programme (CDEEP), IIT Bombay said, “We see an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Mission10X which is working towards enhancing engineering faculty capability across the country through innovative teaching and learning paradigms”

Mission10X has covered faculty members from 17 Engineering colleges in Maharashtra. Representing the Academia in Maharashtra, Dr. Sharadchandra Darade Patil, Dean, Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune said,”Mission10X program launched by Wipro is highly appreciated. Our faculty members who attended the first batch of program have tried out various innovations in engineering classrooms. Popularity of those faculty members who attended the program has gone up significantly in the student community and across the institution. We are happy to be associated with Mission10X”

Mission10X program involves a layered set of capability building workshops to help engineering Faculty nurture talent pool across the country. It was formally launched on Sep 5, 2007 and covered 5 states till date. It will be launched in a phased manner across the country. The aim is to cover 10,000 faculty by the year 2010.
